Exotic Fruits which are Becoming Family Favourites

Well, it may be hard to believe, but some of the weirdest fruits and vegetables, which may look really odd, can actually work to keep us healthy. Some people will say they used to develop a cold every month, but with these exotic fruits and vegetables, its more like once a year. Look at the weird Cherimoya which is a South American fruit which doesn’t look particularly appetising on the outside. The flesh inside however is velvety creamy. With a pineapple and banana flavour, eating this fruit is like enjoying an after-dinner desert. If you can’t find this exotic fruit, at least you can get it as bottled flavoured water.

The Kiwano melon is a truly weird looking fruit. Some people say it looks like a bloated fish while others say it looks like a fruit from outer space. It has been nicknamed ‘horned melon’ and looks untouchable with its horned, yellow exterior. Inside you get a jelly-type fruit with a refreshing tantalizing taste  with a mix of flavours from lime, cucumber and banana. The seeds are also edible, but with a strange fruit, most people simply prefer to hold the seeds between their teeth and remove the flesh of the fruit bu sucking it off. Similar to what you would do with a grenadilla,  with a ripe Kiwano, you can just spoon out the fleshy part and eat it directly or use it as an addition to your fruit salad. Another great idea is to spice up your favourite drink and turn it into something exotic by adding in some Kiwano.

Unless you’re really averse to eating strange, wacky looking fruits and vegetables, you can’t go wrong by adding them to your diet and enjoying their health benefits.
